Tunwells Lane Dwelling
This large 3 storey Victorian house had previously had an annexe created at ground floor level by its architect owner. Returning the property to use as a single family house involved the removal of a convoluted series of small rooms, and the clearing away of divisions to create a flow of interconnected space.
At the front a study was added, behind which was a lobby with utility room and all-important ground floor WC. Behind this, the major part of the ground floor is a new garden room, with kitchen, dining and sitting areas, which pulls the house together into a coherent whole, and makes it a home for this growing family.
