Shelford Delicatessen – Ingredients for Life
Drew and Nicky, who run the deli in Great Shelford, are passionate about making food accessible. The business has a great reputation locally, but was still working from very cramped premises. That original shop is now one of a number of ‘stalls’ within a much larger space which is like a Continental covered market. This allows for a wider range of products, and plenty of cafe seating to enjoy a coffee or a light lunch.
Two mature trees were also retained, creating beautiful outdoor spaces to front and rear. The detailing is deliberately sparse, speaking of an honesty and straightforwardness that matches the food on offer and the ethos of the business. The recipe is a success, as the business continues to thrive, despite a big name supermarket moving in nearby. Why not visit the deli to sample some exciting new flavours?
